Product Description This durable riding toy grows with your child and will keep him wheelin' for years. The Twist Trike is a two-in-one toy that twists from a trike to a chopper in a few easy seconds. Kids can pedal around on the trike for the recommended age range of two to four years old. When they grow out of it, parents can use the patented quick-release twist 'n lock mechanism to transform the trike into a chopper. Designed for ages four to seven, the chopper sits lower on the ground with a single tire in front and two in back. When in chopper mode, the seat adjusts, so it grows with your child. Both styles feature a durable molded construction and a controlled turning radius for stability. The body measures 31.5" x 23" x 34". Holds up to 65 pounds.

too big for younger pre-schoolers August 16, 2010 suzanne6024 as a tricycle, this product sits up very high and i had been nervous of my 2-3 year old child falling over. my child is now 4 and he can maneuver it fine and i am not as concerned as i was previously. however, he does not care for the 'big wheel' version of this toy. i think this product is better for older pre-schoolers, but as older pre-schooles, children are almost ready for training wheels, so i don't know if i would purchase this again given the choice.
Misleading advertising on age, disappointed August 1, 2010 Lurfy's Ma (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am rating this down because of misleading advertising. I bought this for a granddaughter after her parents bought her a regular trike that she loves and rides everywhere. She 2.5 and is at the 90 %ile for height, so I thought the recommended age of 24 months should be good, especially when advertised that in "chopper" mode, it can go up to age 7 or so.
We gave it to her one afternoon as a surprise. She was delighted and jumped right on. We had it set up in upright mode. She could only just barely touch the pedals. There is no adjustment in upright mode, so, trying to salvage everyone's disappointment, we flipped it over. She thought that was cool and again, jumped right on. But even in the shortest position, she could not make enough contact to make it go. She quickly lost interest and went off to something else. It's now 5 months later and she still cannot make it go. I am very upset by this misleading advertising. Now I see that several others have reported the same thing. I wish I had read more of the reviews.
For me, the wheels are too hard. They are very noisy and do not get enough traction on hard surfaces. Most of the weight is in the rear.
The twist idea is great. She loved it and will still play with flipping it over, but will not ride it.
It looks great and appears to be well made. When she is older and able to ride it, I will post an update.
Grandson Loves It February 12, 2010 WorthTheFunds (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I searched a long time for a "reasonable" price on this Twist Trike and finally found one so I purchased it for my Grandson. HE LOVES IT!
Initially there was a problem but both Amazon and Radio Flyer were eager to resolve the problem via an exchange or parts. I opted for the exchange and it was smooth and fast. Kudos to Amazon.
This is a great trike and the "Twist" optional riding positions are a neat idea allowing a child to ride at a younger age and continue riding at an older age by performing the "twist". Truly like 2 toys in one.
Be certain to register your purchase with Radio Flyer because they give you an extended warranty for doing so.
Read and heed the instructions and use caution when performing the "twist" procedure. Be sure not to apply any extra pressure to the release lever on the twist mechanism. There is a plastic bushing that can break with any extra pressure thus causing the connection to be loose causing the trike to wobble. According to Radio Flyer, you can not replace just the bushing (you could if you could get just that part) but must replace the whole twist mechanism to fix the problem. Personally I view this as a design (or part) flaw that could be easily remedied if Radio Flyer chose to do so by using a more durable bushing and or offering a more durable bushing as a replacement part instead of the entire mechanism (just my opinion)
Other than this one part I would rate the "Twist Trike" as very durable and well built. I would purchase this Twist Trike again for other children. I wish I would have had one as a kid.
The trike was very easy to assemble and the insturctions were easy to follow.
With a little help she loved it. February 5, 2010 Sue Parrish We gave the Radio Flyer Twist Trike to our grandaughter for her 3rd birthday. She's pretty girlie so ride toys have not been her favorite. Once she got the hang of pedaling (her older cousins showed her) and with grandma's assistance she really loves it. She's still working on the steering, but has fun. I would recommend this to anyone. Pedaling and steering are necessary skills for a 3-4 year old. She is not tall but both seats allow her to reach the pedals.
My son loves it January 31, 2010 C. Rosa (Cypress, TX United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
He is almost 3 and he takes it everywhere. He rides in the park, in our coul-desac, inside our home. The stickers are falling off and its too early to tell how durable it really is but for now we are happy with it. He doesnt use the pedals, although he is able to, yet but he pushes himself at a very fast pace. I am guessing in a few months he'll start using the pedals.
