Amazon.com Product Description Whoever said youth is wasted on the young never got to ride a Schwinn as a kid. The Schwinn Jasmine 16-inch girls' bike is a perfect example, with a number of high-quality features for the beginning rider. The Jasmine is outfitted with a low stand-over frame with a unicrown fork, double-wide rims for stability, 3-inch Super Street white tires, and heavy-duty training wheels. As a result, your daughter can ride with confidence until she's ready to take her next steps with a bigger bike. Plus, the bike is as fashionable as it is functional, with a fun light blue color, a matching handlebar bag, and streamers on the end of the grips. Other features include a full top-wrap chain guard that keeps pants and laces free of tangles, a cushioned saddle, safety pads, a BMX-style handlebar with a two-bolt stem and alloy cap, a one-piece BMX crankset, and both a coaster brake and front and rear caliper brakes.

Nice bike, make sure they ship all the parts! July 28, 2010 Otter (Chicago,IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bike is beautiful and functional. My 4 year old daughter is JUST shy of being able to ride it, once she grows another inch or two it will be perfect. We got it for her birthday and I have never seen her eyes get bigger than when she was surprised with it!
A side note - the seller shipped it missing two wheel nuts. I am thinking perhaps this was their floor model (it was partially assembled), but it was really unacceptable. My husband had to go to a bike shop to buy 4 wheel bolts - so they would all match - which was a pain in the you-know-what when you're trying to assemble it and present it on the same day. Even though he fibbed and said it was from a garage sale, he had to get a total earful about how he should have just bought the bike there. Highly annoying. The bike, however, is awesome.
Good bike, but terrible shipping, packaging, and instructions July 15, 2010 A4Q96 (Baltimore, MD USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My in-laws ordered this bike for my daughter's 5th birthday after much research and all of us desiring not to spend $200+ on a first bike at a speciality bike shop.
The good news - this is a good bike she likes to ride. It's very attactive (her favorite part are the tassels on the handle bars, LOL) and decently built. She cruises around it at the park sometimes for an hour before growing bored.
Bad news
1. Worst thing was the shipping/packaging - it showed up with a lot of dents and rips in the box like it had been in a battle. The parts were packaged haphazardly and the various fasteners poorly separated and labeled. And, on top of that, the manual is a generic Schwinn manual that you have to leaf through to find the parts relevant to the bike you have bought. There are three different sets of instructions for three types of handlebars, for example, and you have to pay attention to detail to know that you are reading the instructions for the right type. It does make a difference in how you put it together.
2. It took some time to assemble and adjust as a result of #1, and had I not put together bikes before and maintained my own, I would have been a little befuddled at some of the instructions/guidance.
3. I would say that it is a little "heavy handed" and not the easiest to ride/maneuver. The brakes and pedals have a less than smooth operation that makes them tough for a girl who is just learning to ride. She has been on another bike or two and says her bike is harder to pedal. Not a big deal, as she still has plenty of growing to do on it, and I guess she gets a good workout :)
All in all, worth the purchase, but the assembly time and confusing instructions negated some of the cost savings vs. a more expensive bike.
Very bad packaging May 7, 2010 Shiva Prasad B. Kolli (MD, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bike came with very bad packaging. The front while does not fit into the front fork. There are no assembly instructions and the product booklet is not specific to this bike. The accessories are very cheap. It is just a very heavy, bulky bike with very bad packaging.
Very disappointed April 28, 2010 Samantha 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We were so excited about receiving the Schwinn Jasmine bike. Alas the box was completely smashed up - the refectors on the bike were broken - it looked very USED and we did not buy a used one!!! Very disappointed!
Wrong manual January 31, 2010 Steven S. Singer (Downey, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very nice bike well made the only issue I have is the instruction manual that came with the bike, it's clearly not for this bike so it was useless. Had to figure things out on my own. Besides that nice product.
