So glad I got it! August 29, 2010 hollidaisy (TX, USA) I have never had a swivel wheel jogging stroller before, or a double jogging stroller for that matter. I did have an instep single jogger with my first baby 7 years ago. I finally upgraded with the birth of my 5th baby because my oldest 3 are in school and I can actually utilize a double jogger. I'm training for a half marathon and I wanted to find the best quality stroller for the best price. I feel like I found that with this stroller.
Lots of reviewers complained about the recline of the seats, and they are reclined. My kids don't seem to mind. For walking, I have had the front wheel in swivel mode, I really like it. It is smooth and almost feels like I'm not pushing anything. When I'm walking actually one of my older kids likes to sit on the foot rest, so in essence, I have a triple seater.
For jogging, I lock the front wheel. I recently jogged with it through my neighborhood and was a little disappointed. The front wheel rattled a lot. In all honesty, I think its because I was unable to get the wheel attached to the stroller tight enough. When I was attaching it, I got it tight but then it was too tight to lock. So I loosened it so I could lock it, but now I think its too loose. More a user problem than a stroller problem I'm sure. I'll just have to get used to reattaching the wheel.
Unfortunately I have had a hard time fitting this through doorways. I'm not sure if the doorways in my house are the standard size I'd find out shopping, but I haven't dared try it yet because it doesn't fit through the doorways at our home.
The bottom bag/pocket is large and as some other reviewers have said, it is low and stuff can fall out. I really appreciate all the other little nooks of storage that this stroller has; a mesh pocket on the back of each seat that zips, little pockets inside the seats for the wee ones to keep their treasures, and the parent "tray" is nice. It will hold two water bottles and I found that it will fit my big camera in place of one water bottle which is PERFECT! The "tray" also has a zippered bottom and a mesh pocket on the side, perfect for keys and cell phones.
I wasn't sure what to expect with the adjustable handlebar, but it was an appealing bonus with this stroller. There is just a button on either side of the handlebar that you push in and the bar goes up to a high, middle, or low position. It is very helpful for long stretches of pushing, we can easily take turns at the helm and neither of us has to hurt our back in the process.
The shade is another bonus. It is quite big, so nice for those of us in sunny Texas heat with fair skin.
All in all, its not perfect, but truthfully I don't think they make a "perfect" stroller, especially not in this price range. I would gladly recommend this stroller to friends and family. I'm so glad I got!
Fantastic Choice! Did lots of research to choose this stroller! August 25, 2010 M.S. (Canton, MI USA) I spent hours upon hours doing research on these strollers! Of course, I would have liked to buy a BOB but I just can't bring myself to spend that much money on a stroller! This stroller rides like a breeze! I did read a lot about complaints of the seat height. My son is 43" and sits in it just fine. The seats are not made of the highest quality material but my kids don't mind. The cup holder is perfect for me. It rides smooth. The under basket is not so great but I just strap a diaper bag to the bar. The only complaint I had is that when I only had my daughter in the stroller (she is 20 lbs.) the front wheel would shake, A LOT! I did some resarch and found that we just needed to tighten the screw to give the wheel some resistance. Love this stroller! I ended up getting it for only $185 with shipping!! Got very lucky! I highly reccomend!
don't buy August 22, 2010 Jeannie I just purchased this stoller in the spring 2010 and had barely used it until recently. We have trails behind our house so I thought it would be a perfect off roading stroller for my two boys (1 1/2 yr old and 5 months old), and well I was wrong. My 1 1/2 year old is tall for his age and his head reaches the top of the back of the stroller, making it uncomfortable because there is little padding on that top metal frame. It also doesn't seem like it's made for bigger kids because they sit so deep that they are looking more up at the sky than what's in front of them and there is no adjusting that. There's also little leg room. I'm not a picky person and I don't usually write reviews, but the last straw was when the back wheels went. They had been getting extremely wobbly the last few days and finally started rubbing on the stroller itself. My husband took them off and tried fixing them, tightened everything up and they still failed to work properly. We've come to the conclusion that either the frame itself or the actually wheels must be bent. Very frustrating because we are not rough on things, nor had I used it much at all. Would not recommend.
Solid Jogger August 11, 2010 M. Fujimoto (Rockville, MD United States) For the money this jogging stroller is great. It is a solid choice. It is thin enough to fit through the doorways and sturdy enough for jogging or minor hiking. It also has storage and a place for your water bottle, etc.
The downfalls fo the stroller is the tiny sunshade (which isn't really moveable or long enough to cover the kids) and the bar behind the seats that will be at head height of your kids once they reach a certain age/length. The wobbling front wheel can be adjusted by turning the screw (the one under the plastic foot plate) one turn.
Overall it is totally worth the money.
Better than expected July 24, 2010 Cristina Markham (Lee, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After researching strollers for the entire third trimester of my pregnancy, I purchased this jogger. My firstborn is 37" tall and 32 pounds.
My favorite features:
1. Seats recline far enough back to accomodate my 7 pound newborn (though I'm sure this isn't recommended by the manufacturer or by Amazon, my newborn lays down very comfortably when we take short walks...she sleeps the whole time, even over little bumps and such) and sit far enough forward so that my toddler can see around him just fine.
2. Storage: this offers loads of storage...behind each seat, at the handlebar, under the seats, elastic cup holders in each seat. So far, it's been more storage space than we have needed.
3. Foot brake is easy to engage and disengage, and holds the stroller very securely, even on a hill.
4. Cushioned seats: so soft! My toddler is very comfortable, happy to hop in and ride for as long as I want to push.
5. Lightweight, effortless to manuever. I loaded this in my car 1 week after I had my baby without any problem. It's also so simple to pull out of the car and snap together again. This stroller takes virtually no effort to push, and it's 0 degree turn radius is dreamy.
6. Sunshade: huge, versatile, effective.
I will be using this stroller for walks to the park, walks on trails in the woods, trips to fairs and festivals and eventually (give me a couple of months) to jog, at which point the locking front wheel will be a necessity. I had considered a Sit 'n' Stand but needed something more "all-terrain". In my opinion, this stroller has it all and I'm thrilled that after all of the research I did, I made the right choice!
